UGA's Student Care and Outreach office has a mission to coordinate care and assistance for all students experiencing complex hardship or unforeseen circumstances through individualized assistance and tailored interventions. The growth of Student Care and Outreach is a major Student Affairs initiative, backed by President Jere W. Morehead in order to provide more support to a growing population of undergraduate and graduate students. As such, the office which was previously located at 325 Tate Student Center had to be moved.

Project manager Blaine Pritchett said of the project: “The main purpose for this project was to convert the old Tate Center Business Office into the new site for UGA's Student Care and Outreach Office.  In doing so we had to renovate a portion of the Dean of Students office space as well. “

This project aligns with UGA’s growing mission to provide support and resources to students who need assistance.
