Riverbend North
Chris Daigle’s background includes over fifteen years of private sector experience in commercial construction coupled with over sixteen years of experience in the Facilities Management Division at UGA. A recent project featured herein is the Boiler Replacements at Riverbend Research North.
The primary goal of the project was to provide reliable steam service as the existing boilers were original to the building and had long exceeded their useful service life. The new boilers are more efficient than the original and have been integrated with the building automation system (BAS). The BAS allows for remote control and/or monitoring of mechanical systems in addition to the ability to identify opportunities for energy efficiency improvements. Features like operation scheduling, adaptive learning space temperature comparison, and load shedding can result in energy reductions from 5% to 15% in certain buildings.
“My vast experience has equipped me with the technical knowledge balanced with a unique, big-picture perspective. My experience and skillsets are an ideal fit for this type of mission-critical utility project at UGA research laboratory buildings. These types of high-priority projects with heavy mechanical scope are my favorite as the challenges are often complex and the successful outcome contributes significantly to the University’s mission.”
