The IT Department manages the information technology needs of the Facilities Management Division in addition to providing assistance to other groups on campus utilizing FMD resources. We provide technical support to over 800 FMD employees and manage approximately 300+ desktop computers.
Other services we provide:

  • Support for the building access control system used throughout campus
  • Custom web and desktop application development
  • Departmental web hosting for FMD
  • Support for the Computer Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) system used by FMD to create and manage work orders
  • Web applications to allow customers on campus to submit and track work orders as well as view cost analysis of completed work

Important Change When Calling IT

The University of Georgia is transitioning away from the traditional landline phone system to a new Microsoft Teams based phone system over the next year. As part of a pilot program to test the new system before rolling it out to all of FMD, the FMD-IT department will be the first to make the transition.

With this transition, one change you should be aware of is how to reach the IT department by phone:

  • From UGA landline phones, dialing 2-7551 will no longer work.
  • Instead, you will need to dial 9-706-542-7551 from UGA landlines.
  • If calling from a mobile phone, there is no change—continue to dial 706-542-7551.

If you call and we do not pick up, leave a voice message! This will create a ticket for us and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
